Bill Ringer was a three-sport athlete at Napa High School. He played basketball and excelled as a wide receiver in football and as a power hitter and great defensive shortstop in baseball. As a senior Bill earned All North Bay League honors in both football and baseball, and received the Paul Watson Memorial Trophy as the outstanding Napa High football player. Bill held the NHS football record for the most receptions in one game for nearly 40 years. He was also named to the second team All-North Coast football team by the San Francisco Chronicle. The north coast area included five counties, eight football leagues and about 50 schools. Ringer’s baseball skills earned him a scholarship to the University of the Pacific where he starred on offense and defense for four years and was named captain and the Most Valuable Player on the team in his senior year. In addition to his athletic achievements, Bill Ringer was also an outstanding student. He is an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant. He is a partner in the Stockton CPA firm of DeGregori, Gormsen & Ringer, LLP. As a highly skilled, successful athlete at Napa High School and UOP, and a long time credit to his community, Bill Ringer has the qualifications for entry into our Napa High School Athletic Hall of Fame and we welcome him as a member.
