One the finest basketball players to have played at Napa High, Brent Farris was “all-everything” in basketball for the Indians earning All-State, All-Sac-Joaquin Section, All-Superior California, All-MEL and All-Napa County honors.

In 1991, he was honored as the MEL and Napa County Athlete of the Year.

As a linebacker during the football season, Farris earned All County, All MEL and All State recognition.

It was in basketball that Brent went on to play for both Napa Valley College and St. Mary’s College where he earned Most Valuable Player awards. His Gael coach at the time, Ernie Kent, said, “Brent was a fierce competitor who brought an “old school” mentality that helped to stabilize the entire team where he led, not vocally, but by example.”

Farris was named All West Coast in the 1994 – 1995 season while at St. Mary’s. He lives in Greenwood Missouri where he is active in coaching his two high school sons.
