Tristan Austin established an athletic record at Napa High that is among the best in the school’s history. In her four years at Napa, she was a starter and a star on 12 teams: two junior varsity teams as a freshman and ten varsity teams. She earned All-MEL honors seven times. The three NHS varsity volleyball teams on which she played won two league championships and one division championship. Austin earned All-League honors in her senior year. As a point guard on the basketball team, Austin played three varsity years and earned All-MEL honors in her junior and senior years. A stellar defensive player, she had many outstanding offensive games including 27- and 28-point games. Softball was Austin’s premier sport. She had an unforgettable career in high school as a four-year starting player on the varsity softball team. At Napa High, after a freshman All-League season as an outfielder, she became an infielder her last three seasons and won All-League honors for three years and All-District and All-State honors in her senior year. She hit an incredible .520 in her junior season at Napa. Her talents earned her a four-year scholarship to the University of Pacific, where she continued to excel, starting at second base as a freshman and moving to shortstop for the remaining three years. As a senior she was team captain, voted MVP and was the only Tiger to start each of Pacific’s 55 games throughout the year.
