Ron Fisher graduated in the storied 1972 Napa High class whose teams won North Bay League titles in football, basketball, and baseball during their three-year high school career. Ron is joining hall of fame members and classmates Stewart Walkenhorst, Rick Bailey and Russ Schamun, who nominated. Ron.

The son of long time Napa High Athletic Director, Dale Fisher, Ron was the consummate all-around athlete and team leader who played football, basketball and baseball at Napa High. For his efforts Ron was named “Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of his career at Napa High.

Ron was Napa High’s team captain in both basketball and baseball and was an “All Tourney” selection in 1972 when Napa High won the Top of the Bay Classic basketball tourney. In those years the TOBC was the highest achievement for a team since high school playoffs came in to being years later. On the baseball field Ron was named to the “All NBL” team in 1972, having compiled a .352 batting average and serving as team captain.

Fisher’s other accomplishments included winning the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Award, serving as Block “N” President, being named as an Outstanding Young Citizen by the Napa Chamber of Commerce, and receiving the John Falaco Memorial Scholarship.

Ron continued playing baseball after high school and played two years at BYU and two years at UC Davis. He graduated from UCD in 1977 with a degree in biology.

Ron and his wife, Judy, who is also a 1972 NHS graduate, have made their home in Rocklin since 1994. They have two children: a son, Connor, and a daughter, Kaitlin.
