Ted LeMasters was a dominant football and baseball player for the Napa Indians. He holds almost every season and career passing record as a quarterback, and set a new league batting average standard eclipsing Bill Buckner’s 1968 record.
As a football player, Ted accounted for over 2,220 yards in total offense his junior year and lead the Indians to a MEL Championship. He was named to the All County and All MEL League teams. In his senior year he compiled similar statistics, again securing another league title while earning MEL Offensive Player of the Year honors. His school records include: completions in a game (20) and career (242); passing yards in a game (373) and career (3,700); TD passes in a career (36); pass completion percentage for a season and career (67.3%)
Ted was a four-year varsity baseball player where he predominantly played catcher for coach Todd Pridy. He was the MEL’s Player of the Year in 2007 and helped lead the Indians to a league title.
Coach Troy Mott said of Ted, “He is tough mentally and physically. He brings big time intelligence to the game. He’s easy to coach and is such a student of the game.”
Ted was named as the Napa Valley Register’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2006 and 2007.
Upon graduation Ted went to Long Beach State University where he was recruited and accepted a baseball scholarship. He finished his college baseball career at the University of San Francisco where he started and played outfield for two seasons, winning USF’s Con Dempsey Award as the Most Improved Player.
Ted is married to Gianna Wright LeMasters and they have one son.
