Jack Stout was an outstanding three-sport athlete at Napa High School. As a junior on the football team, Stout was named to the All-MEL defensive team and the All-Region defensive team, and was Second Team All-MEL center. As a senior, he again was All-MEL on defense, All-Region and All-Northern California. He was selected as the Outstanding Lineman at Napa High in both 1980 and 1981 and was selected to play in the 1982 high school East-West game. Stout was named to the Vallejo Time Herald’s MEL 10-Year All-Star team on defense in 1985. Stout also played baseball and basketball for three years and was a member of the Indians 1980-81 MEL championship basketball team. He was named to the Sacramento Bee All-Superior California Large School team. Stout also served as a Napa High assistant football coach for many years. His nominator had this to say about Stout: “Outstanding football player for three years, leader, hard worker in weight room and on field. Never got hurt. If he was hurt, coaches didn’t know it. Model for younger players. Never gave less than 100%. Good student – always a positive leader on campus. Three sports all three years at Napa High. Never missed a game.”
